In a new signing, Harlequins has signed Francis Saili, former All Blacks centre on a long term contract.

Saili was with Munster Rugby before his new contract and spent just two seasons at the Pro12 side.

The new signing has featured for the All Blacks twice in his career and was part of the New Zealand side that ended up victorious after winning the World Championships in 2011.

In Super Rugby, he has appeared no less than 42 times for the Blues. John Kingston, Harlequins Director of Rugby who confirmed the news noted that it was an absolute delight for him to join the club side.

Kingston said: “I am absolutely delighted to confirm that Francis is joining Harlequins on a long-term contract.

“He is a high class, quality player who is comfortable at either 12 or 13.

“Alongside his obvious talent, he will help balance the squad further by being available for us all season, which is just as important, given our ambitions as a club.” he added.

He also noted that the 26 year old was an exciting signing for the team which the fans would surely enjoy watching.

Saili joins the club where the director of Rugby, Kingston and defence coach, Nick Easter is at the helm of affairs.

He was caped twice in 2013 by the All Blacks after he debuted against Argentine in the Rugby Championship. He also was part of the squad that went up against Japan in Tokyo.

Back in 2014, he represented the Barbarians at the Twickenham Stadium against Australia.

Saili would be joining the likes of Dave Lewis, DemetriCatrakilis,Phil Swainston,Josh McNulty, Lewis Boyce, andRenaldo Bothma as Harlequins’ new recruits for the 2017/18 season and he looks forward to the new challenge in the Premiership.
